Places to stay....
The Bell Hotel is an AA 3-star hotel in the English town of Thetford within the county of Norfolk. The hotel has been a Grade II listed building since 3 April 1951.
With the arrival of the railway connections to Thetford, Norwich and wider Norfolk the inn was turned into a hotel. In the 17th century and 19th century further wings and extensions have been added with the west wing constructed in the late 20th century. The hotel is reputedly haunted by the ghost of its 18th-century landlady Betty Radcliffe. Actors associated with the BBC comedy show Dad's Army, stayed at the hotel when filming on location
The hotel provides a perfect location to explore Thetford and the surrounding areas. Within walking distance from amenities and local cafes, pubs and shops.
Some rooms offer a room overlooking the River Little Ouse and the Mr Mannering Statue on the green opposite (pictured below).

For a decade, Leaping Hare has been a fundamental part of the town of Thetford. We have created an essential hub where residents and visitors can find out about everything that’s going on in the town.
The founders initially came together during the creation of the Dad’s Army museum in 2007 (which attracts more than 10,000 visitors each year). Passionate Thetfordians, they knew that the town had a wider story to tell, and formed a Community Interest Company to re-establish and sustain the tourist information centre.
